It had been a long time since I had kept in touch with my childhood/church friend Jackie, and since her move to New York last year, I had promised to visit her. Good timing finally led me to a short, fun filled weekend in Manhattan to escape the mundane and hectic work weeks in LA and celebrate Jackie's big 2-5. Here are few photos to share from Fri-Sat.
My arrival in NY was thankfully smooth. Instead of taking a $50 cab ride to Jackie's apt., I decided to take a chance and commute via public transportation. Note to travelers--use the trains and subway systems! Though it may take twice the time to get you where you want to be, it's a fraction of the cab ride fee and the experience of people watching is definitely worth it.
Here we are, 10:30 PM, raining and about to take a cab to Canival, which is a spiffy spot. It's like a Dave and Busters warped into a lounge, circus, and bowling alley.

Recap-NY is a great place for the young/working professionals who have made the plunge to start fresh. I have yet to attain more work experience to decide whether or not I'd make such a bold move. Though I'm ready to take all the risks, I'm never ready to be fully be a part from my family at home. Time will tell!
